Water Updates in Ward 8 As of monday morning, the Boil Water Advisory for the community of Spruce Cliff, as well as affected areas of Wildwood and Rosscarrock, has been lifted. This advisory was the result of a water service line break on private property and was not related to work on the Bearspaw Feeder Main. While crews were isolating water service to the affected property, there was a disruption to the water main supplying drinking water to Spruce Cliff and parts of Wildwood and Rosscarrock. The issue has since been fully repaired. For more information on this incident and other water outages as they occur, please visit calgary.ca/wateroutages. Calgarians have been doing a great job of water conservation
during the Bearspaw Feeder Main repairs. Collectively, we kept our use under
500 million litres and in the Green Zone for the first six days, but did hit
504 million litres on Sunday, which puts us in the red zone for the first time.
Sundays are often a day with higher use, and a small uptick was anticipated. Over the past few days, we were reminded why having enough
water in our system is so important: - On Friday, a Boil Water Advisory was issued for
Spruce Cliff and parts of Wildwood and Rosscarrock. Before the advisory could
be lifted, crews needed to flush water through pipes and fire hydrants over
several days. In total, the flushing required to clear the system used about two
million litres of water.
- Then crews
responded to a major fire in the southeast, that took an estimated seven million litres of water
to fight.
Situations like this show why
it’s critical to have flexibility in our water system. Because of your strong
water‑saving efforts over the past week, our system and underground storage had
enough capacity to respond to these two issues while maintaining essential
services. For the latest updates, practical

The City of Calgary has sent out
more than 600,000 annual 2026 property assessment notices and
opened the Customer Review Period, which runs until March 23, 2026. A property’s 2026 Assessment Notice is an estimate of
a property's market value on July 1, 2025. If the property
characteristics and condition of a property changes after the valuation date of
July 1, 2025, the assessment will reflect the property the characteristics as
of December 31, 2025.
A property’s assessment is used
to determine property owners’ share of
property tax but it’s important to remember an assessment
notice is not a tax bill. There is no payment required, and if the
owner of the property feels the assessed amount is an
accurate reflection of their market value from July 1, 2025, and has no
questions, no action is required.
If an owner has concerns or questions about their assessed
value, they should visit calgary.ca/assessment or
call 311 before March 23, which is the last day of the
Customer Review Period. 2026 Youth Hiring Fair on March 26

excited to share details about Mount Royal's current work planning for the
future of main campus through the development of a Long-Range
Development Plan (LRDP) – and how you can get involved. Planning
for the Possible is a long-term framework that will help guide how we use our
campus lands responsibly, sustainably and intentionally over the coming
decades. This plan goes beyond buildings. It envisions a campus that reflects
how we learn, connect and grow as a community in the future. This
critical framework aligns MRU’s physical development with institutional
priorities, sustainability, and broader municipal and provincial planning
goals. This event is open to everyone. Open House – Tuesday, March 17, noon to 8:00 p.m.
Can't attend in person? The draft concept and an online feedback form
will be available on the Planning
for the Possible webpage on Tuesday, March 17.
You can provide your feedback through the end of day on Tuesday, March 24. We want to hear from you!
